The “100 Things About Me” meme is a staple for bloggers. For me, the purpose of this exercise is to establish your own identity. In a past blogging life, I attempted to complete this exercise, but failed miserably by getting only 1/4 of the way through. This time, I’m up for the challenge of coming up with 100 possibly interested or potentially boring tidbits about me and my life in Seattle in 2007. So, without further ado….100 Things About Me.
1. I was born in the town of Saint Peter, MN on January 26, 1973.
2. A tidbit of history: Saint Peter was originally supposed to be the home of the state capit0l, but architectural plans for the Capitol Building were stolen.
3. As a result, Saint Paul officially became Minnesota’s state capitol.
4. When I was growing up, my parents owned an appliance store in the early 1980s.
5. When I was young, after school, I used to be fascinated by the non-descript bluescreen of the old Zenith television with the scrolling HBO cable channel programming schedule.
6. Back then, HBO didn’t come on the air until 7:00 p.m.
7. The first 45 record I ever purchased was Heat of the Moment by Asia.
8. I purchased his 45 at the Gamble’s store my parents’ good friends, the Holts, owned in Black River Falls, Wisconsin.
9. I only ran away from home once when I was 4 or 5 years old by crossing a busy four-lane highway to go to Hardees.
10. I was caught by a police officer when I was attempting to get an orange soda.
11. I think that was the first time I got in big trouble.
12. I once got grounded because of the shenanigans of my younger brother and the neighbor girl. HOW UNFAIR!!
13. My three favorite colors are: Burgundy Red, Dark Grey, and Black.
14. Growing up, my first favorite musical artists were Duran Duran and The Pretenders.
15. Duran Duran in 1990 at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis, was the first rock concert I’ve ever attended.
16. This concert was during their Big Thing tour.
17. I’m not ashamed to admit that Big Thing is my favorite Duran Duran album.
18. My favorite Kool-Aid flavor STILL is black cherry.
19. Black Cherry is also my favorite Goldfrapp record.

20. I was once bitten by a horse while trying to help my uncle put on horseshoes.
21. This incident occurred in Arkansaw, WI, near the town of Durand. Call it coincidence.
22. The first two cars that I drove after aquiring my driver’s license were not one, but TWOÂ 1978 two-toned El-Caminos.
23. Apparently, my dad had an obsession with them.
24. I had ABSOLUTELY NO choice in the matter.

36. I moved to Seattle for the first time in 1997 with an ex-boyfriend.
37. I left Seattle in 1999 and moved to Portland because I met someone else.
38. That someone else turned out to be psycho.
39. Needless to say, I’ll never EVER move to another city just because of a boy.
40. After moving back home to Minnesota in 2003, I returned to Seattle Halloween weekend in 2004.
41. That month, I saw PJ Harvey in concert on the 1st in Minneapolis and on the 31st in Seattle.
42. The musical performer I’ve seen more times that anyone else is Kristin Hersh.

63. Even as we as a society advances technologically, I probably still can’t live without pen and paper.
